Sydney Airport Jobs Fair draws excitement and opportunity!

If you’ve been dreaming of a career in aviation, opportunities at Sydney Airport could take you to new heights!

Sydney Airport hosted its third annual Jobs Fair in August this year, offering a range of exciting opportunities in the aviation sector as it aims to serve 2 billion passengers by 2040.

More than 4,000 attendees visited this year's Jobs Fair which featured more than 30 of the airport’s largest employers, including major airlines, retailers, government agencies, and terminal service providers.

Prospective employees met representatives from organisations including Qantas, Virgin Australia, Certis, Australian Border Force, Heinemann Oceania, Australian Federal Police, and Plaza Premium Lounge Australia.

Attendees were able to apply for jobs on the spot, with hundreds of positions available.

Sydney Airport CEO Scott Charlton said it was wonderful to host the third annual Jobs Fair at Sydney Airport.

“The Jobs Fair is a key part of our strategy to attract top talent and ensure we deliver the level of service and efficiency passengers should expect from Australia’s global gateway,” Mr Charlton said.

"As a major employer, Sydney Airport plays a crucial role in supporting the local community. In 2023, we contributed $39.8 billion to the economy and supported 314,600 full-time equivalent jobs.

The success of our airport is directly tied to the dedication and skill of our workforce, and this Jobs Fair underscores our commitment to building a world-class team for the future."

The Jobs Fair was held in the T1 International Terminal with 128 people signing up for the talent pool for potential career opportunities at Sydney Airport. Job seekers also signed up for opportunities with other airport partners on the day. It was exciting to see future aviation enthusiasts on the path towards securing their dream job.

Sydney Airport creates thousands of local jobs that benefit the community in in a range of areas including:

• day-to-day management of the airport
• airlines and freight and logistics companies
• government agencies like the Australian Border Force, Australian Federal Police and Airservices
• jobs in security, retail and other outlets in the airport’s passenger terminals
• hotels and ground transport services like terminal shuttle buses.
